It…..no not the clown,
Something scarier,
That which must be lived on earth,
Not in the clouds,
Not with the fairies,
Not in meditation,
Not in the dark shadows of the night wakings..that will eat you,
Not in a haze of whiskey or mary jane,
Down here in the dirty, beautiful landscape of being,
Down here surrounded by others,
Down here in the soil,
Down here in our wiggling toes,
Down here in our rising and falling breath,
But if you dare to let it in,
Dare to make best friends with it,
Dare to command its attention,
Be sure to commit fully,
Be sure not to fight it,
Be sure to bend,
Stretch the heart,
Be sure to use its power wisely,
For down here it will be misunderstood,
Down here it will offend,
Down here it will be taken advantage of if not secured fully,
But DOWN here and ONLY down here must IT be lived…..else a life wasted……
